This film is a film about choice, and power, and change. This is about the strength of a people to overcome tyranny, and the fights that bond us as people. This is about personal choice and moral responsibilty, an account of the life of Luke Petrovich, a man deeply involved in the Perez dynasty who chose to go against all he knew and dismantle the very system that made him. It is difficult to explain the power of Leander Perez and strength of his regime. During his lifetime, he held sway over not only Plaquemines Parish, but also state and even Federal lawmaking. His political pull drew lines on maps and designed legislation for own financial gain and segrigationist agenda. His all-out political war to do what was right led to his ultimate demise. Luke chose democracy and the people over everything and returned the Parish to the people.
